The building work is progressing at great speed, and we? re on track to open our new home in the Autumn of 2013. The front of the building is now swathed in scaffolding and the contractors have set up their site office in the parlour at the front of the building. Through the duration of the build the parlour will be restored to its former glory complete with wood panelling and fireplace.
The internal walls are coming down on the opposite side of the building where the studio style training room is taking shape, turning the two current small dark rooms into one larger flexible space.
To allow you to have a sneak peak at what the inside of the building looks like at the moment, we have been working with our friends atGoogle to produce a Streetview tour of the inside of the building. Keep an eye on our website in the new year to see how it looks.
At the heart of the building is the main training space; there is still a lot of work to do in here to prepare it for its crowing glory, the steel trapeze rig. The rig has been specifically designed for Four Elms and it is what will turn the building into a circus centre.
We have been overwhelmed by the generosity of our member and friends who have supported the Raise the Rig campaign so far, where we have been asking you to sponsor a nut and bolt, side beam or main beam of the rig, but we still have a long way to go. See more photos of how the build is progressing and find out how to lay claim to you own bit of Four Elms.
