The Cabaret Collective was started following a desire to create more performance opportunities for the members of our Cardiff community. It's about making a space to experiment, develop, invent and create.
The collective brings together Cardiff community members and professional performers. They've been rehearsing together for three weeks now. The sessions are about pushing the boundaries and challenging the performers to work in different ways.
For many of the community members this is the first time they've worked towards a professional performance. The collective is being directed and shaped by Angela De Castro. De Catsro has a unique direction style. With a long standing history of directing cabarets all around the world, she uses the skills and strengths of the group to craft delightfully quirky numbers.
We? re very excited about this new performance group because it embraces our differences and the richness of each one of us, because it mixes professionals and new performers in an inspiring way, because it creates a unique, ephemeral and radical performance.
A devised performance of their work will be presented at end of the process.
