Offering masterclasses, a new professional development micro fund aimed at professional circus practitioners and access to mentoring

professional development masterclasses 

Delivered in partnership with Circomedia and National Centre for Circus Arts, this programme of masterclasses will cover a variety of business focused areas of practice. 

Masterclasses are open to all UK circus professionals and cost £15 to attend. 

Thanks to the support of the Arts Council of Wales, Welsh-based practitioners can attend sessions based in Wales for free and apply to NoFit State for support to attend sessions based in England for free if needed. 

 


Professional development micro fund 

To support the continuing professional development of circus professionals with a strong link to Wales through providing flexible and targeted financial support. 

This is a micro fund, providing small amounts of money to cover the direct costs that other larger funds are unable to support.

We are thrilled to announce thats the successful applicants of second round the NoFit State Circus #Transitions Micro Fund are:

Kate Kavanagh – to further the CircusVoices development scheme
Splatch Arts – to support early stage creation, and integration of digital elements in new work
Tammi Brown – investment in an all female R&D of a new project, Rattlesnake
Jose Pedro Fortuna – to provide resources for academic study of clowning and the Red Nose

We are thrilled to announce that the successful applicants to the first round of the Transitions micro fund are:

The Sparklettes hoop troop – to support performance skills and act creation
Janos Foldi – investment in first stage creative R&D
The Bad Eggs – for focused technical skills development

The micro fund is part of the Transitions project, a circus artist and teacher development programme, run by NoFit State Circus and funded by the Arts Council of Wales. The fund aims to offer small amounts of money to cover the direct costs of professional development that other larger funds are unable to support. It is open to any circus professional with strong links to Wales.

Any person engaging with the transitions programme can apply to be matched with a professional development mentor who will work with them to develop a personal development plan.
