Circus Performer
NoFit State is seeking a funny, energetic and highly skilled circus performer to join our BAMBOO company.
BAMBOO is our show for outdoor and unusual indoor spaces. So far it has had two successful seasons with a total of 130 Performances within the UK and EU.
We are looking for a strong, non-conforming, dynamic performer to join the existing company for our 2026 tour.
The show tours to a vast range of different contexts and requires a consistent energy that can sustain through a 40-minute show in total exposure; there is nowhere to hide on our BAMBOO stage.

Our ideal candidate will possess:
- A strong upper body and grip; the ability to climb, hang, and rotate on uneven structures and different thicknesses of bamboo. The show suits those with Chinese Pole, bouldering, tumbling, and a strong acrobatic vocabulary.
- Slapstick, clown, physical theatre literacy.
- Unique and daring skills and curiosity to develop, create and keep exploring new things.
- Bold risk-taking and quick-thinking with good physical and emotional intelligence.
- A willingness to improvise and develop skills in a new performance vocabulary.
- A big stage presence and a delight in performing outdoors, competing with the weather, ambulances, seagulls, the wind, screaming children, etc.…
- Laugh-out-loud, non-verbal funny; a quick-thinking, charming improviser.
- Someone able and willing to muck in and take an equal role in all jobs related to touring outdoors and all the challenges that come with that. It’s hard work, but it’s brilliant work.
