An aerial workshop (aerial silks, hoop and rope)
The work focuses on developing body movement skills, encouraging research, and nurturing individual artistic expressions in the air.
Saturday 26 October, 9.30am - 1.30pm
The workshop at NoFit State will be a one day workshop; 4 hours long with a break of 15 min. But don't worry, we'll go through a rage of instructions, techniques and ensure everyone is able to do a 4 hours - it's not a 4 hour workout session!
This workshop isn't only about exploring movement quality; it blends dynamic techniques with the integration of body language into your repertoires and future learning. Essentially, it is an introduction to aerial research.
During the workshop, Diana will guide you in exploring your capabilities in the air, teach you how to engage with your work more deeply and help you to understand an aerial creative process.
Diana will place significant emphasis on fundamental tools like partner manipulation, understanding the timing of movements, and intention through aerial movement.
Diana will be flexible to adapt to your level. It is mandatory to be able to climb your apparatus and have the minimum technique such as simple poses. (The workshop is for all levels but not for an introduction of the apparatus.)
If you already possess a strong foundation in research techniques and concepts, Diana will delve into more advanced aspects of technical and dramaturgical research. This entails teaching you how to construct sequences, refine your body movement quality, and apply the techniques you’ve acquired during the course to expand your body of work. However, if there's a need, Diana is prepared to revisit the basics of research and introduce additional developmental exercises (which will be enriching for sure!).
