Information

Have any questions about how our community classes work? You can also download our induction forms here.

With a variety of classes running seven days a week for people and children all ages and abilities, there really is something for everyone at NoFit State.

Our weekly classes run in monthly or term-time courses, but you can also pay a bit more for drop in sessions.

Whether you're a total beginner or a professional looking to hone your craft, our beautiful training facilities and eclectic schedule of adult classes and training sessions will suit your needs.

Beginners classes include our popular Mixed Aerial Course, Beginners Flying Trapeze Course, as well as 'ground' skill courses in Hula Hoop, Acrobatics, Handstands and Acrobalance.

Our Youth Circus groups, each named after Star Wars characters run in 5 different age ranges; PrEwoks (2 - 4 years); Ewoks (5 - 7 years); Wookies (7 - 9 years); Padawans (9 - 11 years); and Jedi (11+).

Apart from our Jedi group, these classes run in termly blocks in line with the local academic term times set by our local council.

We also run a Youth Circus bursary scheme, which supports families who need it the most to attend circus for free. Read more about that on our bursaries page.

FAQs

Here are some answers to some frequently asked questions

I’ve never done anything like this before, can I join as a compete beginner?

Absolutely. Whatever your physical capability, our classes are totally accessible to all ages and abilities. For adults, our Beginners Mixed Aerial class is a great all rounder, but we also have taster and drop-in courses in Flying Trapeze, Acrobalance, Acrobatics, Hula Hoop and more. Children can start circus from as young as 2 years old right through to 18. We offer taster sessions which can be booked through Reception.

Do we take on work experience placements?

Not as a rule. Occasionally we offer voluntary placements. If you are interested in volunteering for us, please sign up to our newsletter and tick the 'volunteering' box under interests.

Do we offer private lessons?

Yes! We find private lessons are a great way to learn and we can supply teachers for nearly any discipline. Contact [email protected] for more information or to book.

Do we teach children under 5?

Yes we do! Our new PrEwoks family circus sessions are fun accompanied sessions for children and their parent/guardian.

Are we open on bank holidays?

Generally yes, except Easter & Christmas.

Can I change a class I have booked on to?

Unfortunately not. We do try to make this clear in our terms and conditions before you buy any class, but unless you have an injury (with a doctor's note), we are not obliged to refund or exchange your class booking. Talk to us if you need any help.

Can I sit in and watch?

For the comfort of our students, unless you are taking part in a class we request that you do not sit and watch classes. We can make occasional exceptions to this, for instance if you are part of a hen or birthday party group.

Do you have car parking?

There is very limited on-street parking outside and around Four Elms Road. This is mostly resident-only.

Can you pay by card/online?

Yes!

Do we do hen parties/stag dos/birthday parties?

Yes. See our Hen & Stag Packages.
